I was inspired to draw this piece after watching a documentary by the BBC about the beauty in mathematics. Normally I crumble at the very thought of anything maths-related, however, I was intrigued by this documentary. There is a mathematical equation in literally everything! Although I find it hard to get my head around, my husband understands complex equations, so, I asked him if it was possible to work out an equation for 'Harmonic Frequency'.

According to the BBC:
'Brain scans show a complex string of numbers and letters in mathematical formulae can evoke the same sense of beauty as artistic masterpieces and music from the greatest composers.'

Everything around us can be worked out as a perfect equation, from the harmony of music to the beauty and complexity of a flower.

Whilst visiting Penny Cordier of 'Cyprus Holistic and Beauty Centre' whilst visiting my parents in Cyprus, I explained the story behind this canvas. Penny loved the concept, I showed her the image and was extremely proud when she requested a canvas version that she could put up in her holistic centre. I located a coal canvas print shop and was able to fulfill her request before I came back home to the UK. A truly wonderful feeling.
